We’re often asked how one would go about improving their website’s visibility on search engines and usually this results in a ‘brain picking’ session at the local coffee shop, so we thought we’d save ourselves a trip next time and post it here for future reference. Follow these simple tips and you’ll soon be getting found on Google.
The first thing to do is to make sure your website has been prepped correctly, this should be a fairly straightforward task that you could do yourself if that way inclined; Make sure that keywords (search terms) appear in your page titles, in correctly tagged headers, and are emphasized in the content of your web pages. Next you need to publish new content regularly. The easiest way to do this is with a blog. We can install and integrate (match the look and feel of your website) a WordPress blog for around £300. It’s a modest outlay that’s proven to work – we’re testament to that – the more content you produce the more important your website becomes.
Finally you have to drive traffic to your website and build incoming links, this is a measure of a website’s popularity and relevance. It’s an ongoing process that you can do yourself, so no worries there; List the website in directories, exchange links with related websites, make good use of social media sites and run on and offline promotions.
So there you have it, our complimentary advice on the cheapest way to bump your site up Google. Of course the team at Bright New Media are more than happy to help with any of these things and more should some budget become available
